NuSil Technology's Carpinteria, Calif., headquarters building and production flow were recently reorganized and redesigned. A 2,400-square-foot cleanroom was created to meet the rapidly expanding need for a silicone manufacturer that can compound active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) into silicones - and do so in a safe and controlled environment. This new cleanroom will be registered with the FDA, as well as the California State Health Department.

Filmed at the famed St. Regis Bora Bora Resort on Tahiti's most romantic island, the new comedy from Universal Pictures, Couples Retreat, opened at No. 1 at the box office nationwide in its first weekend of release.
Producers chose Bora Bora for its lush landscapes and crystal clear lagoon of many shades of blue. The film will raise awareness of Tahiti and showcase the beauty of the islands. This is the first time a feature film has been predominately filmed in the islands of Tahiti since Mutiny on the Bounty in 1984. Scores of national, regional broadcast and online media visited the island of Bora Bora for a recent press event in late September, representing the single largest influx of media to the country at one time.

Wyland: Earth Day won best film at the San Diego Film Festival. The film is a half-hour documentary on the creation of the rooftop, "Earth: The Blue Planet" painting on the Long Beach Sports Arena. Dunn-Edwards Paints donated 1,200 gallons of paint needed to paint the Earth and restore the 11-story-high marine-life "Planet Ocean" mural. The film is slated for entry in various other festivals nationally.

Forbes magazine recently put the Panasonic Toughbook 30 to the test by introducing the mobile computer to Nalin, a white tiger, and Liz, a 10,000-pound Asian elephant, who both live at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, Calif. Attempting to disprove Panasonic's claims of toughness Nalin gnawed on the screen and Liz stood on the computer but to no avail. The Toughbook 30 received minimal damage, and the Forbes testers were still able to boot up the mobile computer and login.
