GROUP BECOMES FIRST MARKETING AGENCY IN THE U.S. WITH HIGH DEFINITION
EDITING CAPABILITIES
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (February,
2000) - The Phelps Group, an integrated marketing communications
agency, expanded its video production capabilities by adding a new
2,400-square-foot, fully high definition (HD)-compatible edit bay
on site.
"Video publications editors
tell us were the first agency in the U.S. with the ability
to acquire and edit in HD," said Joe Phelps, company CEO. "As
the industry transitions to HD, its important for us to remain
ahead of the curve by providing in-house resources that allow us
to deliver our clients projects faster, better and cheaper."
The edit bay enables editing and
posting in several different formats, including HD and standard
definition (SD). The facility also features an insert stage, broadband
servers, full webcasting capabilities and client workspace/communications
amenities.
The room will be used for a wide
range of client projects, including television commercials, industrial
films and trade show presentations. "HD has numerous benefits
that go beyond broadcast," said Phelps. "For example,
we can now produce high definition trade show presentations and
industrial films that make similar standard definition presentations
look dated."
The main room features the latest
editing and production technology and equipment from industry leaders
Panasonic and Avid, among others. Room design and layout was done
by Venice, Calif.-based Boto Designs. Wiring and installation of
the equipment was by Diva Systems of Hollywood, Calif.
