SANTA MONICA, Calif.
(July 26, 2002) The Phelps Group brought home four top honors
from this years Telly Awards, a competition that selects outstanding
non-network and cable commercials from more than 11,000 entries.
The Phelps Group won a silver Telly, the highest honor, for their
PETCO Protesters commercial and three bronze Tellys
as finalists for Bushnells Xtra Xtra Wide and
PETCOs Bath and Cake commercials.
The Telly Awards was founded in 1980 to showcase and recognize outstanding
non-network and cable commercials.
We created a unique branding campaign for PETCO with the spots,
said Howie Cohen, creative director, The Phelps Group. Our
goal with Protestors was to show people that their own
animals have an opinion when it comes to buying pet products. With
Cake and Bath, our challenge was giving
the viewer a glimpse into the intensely personal relationship between
pets and their owners. These Tellys are confirmation that
we reached our goal, he continued.
