What is a crisis? A big explosion, fire or natural disaster? Yes, but a crisis can be a scandal involving your CEO. Or a major lawsuit that denigrates your product. A crisis can be vicious rumors that have infiltrated blogs and chat rooms and have hurt your business before you even are aware of them.

How prepared is your company prepared to identify and respond to a crisis?

We believe that it is critical for every business to have a customized and frequently updated crisis plan. It is an essential part of doing business. The Phelps Group is experienced in planning for crisis situations, and responding at the first sign of a negative situation.

Crisis Planning

The idea is to have as many details handled and identified before a crisis strikes. We'll help you put together a crisis response team, spokespersons, outside consultants and institute a chain of command for decision-making and release of all information. We'll think of all those things that could go wrong and how they will be handled. We'll identify all your target audiences and what their concerns might be. Importantly, we'll build relationships with the media that we can draw on in the heat of a crisis.

Crisis Response

We'll dispatch a team to work side-by-side with you to respond to the urgent situation, portray the company in the best light possible and minimize the negative impact on the business. We'll work with regulatory agencies, handle the media and communicate with your other important audiences, such as dealers, distributors, employees and their families, stockholders, suppliers, etc. We'll work with you to develop long-term strategies to repair any damage to your reputation.
